Nature of request
Writ of Edward I to the Treasurer and Chancellor, rehearsing that the late bishop of Salisbury granted the advowsons of the churches of Enford and Overton to the prior and convent of St Swithun and they had Enford, and Overton was to come to them when it was void. On the resignation of Reigate they demanded the church from the then bishop and he delayed, and the treasurer and chancellor are commanding to take to them those of the council they consider suitable and examine the matter and do favour without delay.
