Nature of request
Clerk requests grace and remedy so that he is not disinherited from his land in Acton Burnell by default of law. His father granted him land, mills and a fishery while he was still a minor, and on his father's death he and his land was given into the custody of Robert Burnell to maintain him, and after his death this was given to Philip Burnell. After Philip Burnell's death the land was taken into the king's hand, and because none of his near kinsmen challenged for his estate, the petitioner is ousted.
Nature of endorsement
At the Exchequer, and let it be viewed there whether he should have his sustenance from the bishop etc. And similarly let them examine there the inquisition returned of the lands and tenements of which Philip Burnell died seised, and let justice be done to the complainant just as the treasurer considers ought to be done.
