Master and brothers of the poor knights of St Lazarus of Jerusalem in England.

Nature of request
The Master and brothers request that it be commanded that they are able to be quit according to their privileges and that they not be charged to pay tenths and tallages against their indulgences, and if things have been paid by wrongful distress that they be restored, and they be quit towards the pope and all other lords. They have privileges from Clement V and other popes but sums are demanded from them by distress by the treasurers and barons of the Exchequer, and they are greatly impoverished by the loss of Acre.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that they view the bulls and other liberties contained in the petition to do what they consider ought to be done, and until now is accustomed to be done.
