Nature of request
The Sire de Fenles states that the comte de la Marche has requested his share of the acquisitions of land outside of the core parts of France made by the king's of France since the time of St Louis, and the Sire is advised that the king can claim the same in right of his wife Isabella. The king of France has heard of the Sire's advice to his lord the king and is displeased. He also complains of the treatment of his messenger by the people of Calais and St Omer, and requests that they be excluded from the king's realm. He requests three or four ships. He requests that Fagot be pardoned the king's displeasure, Fenles being prepared to recommend him.
