Nature of request
Bret shows that after the arrest of the merchants and goods of the house of Frescobaldi, one of that company purchased his delivery from prison and managed to obtain goods and writings from their house and deliver it to the house of the company of the Portinari and the Peruzzi, and subsequently left the country in such a hurry that he left the writings, but they came into the hand of his valet, and the company of the Peruzzi eventually after violence and having him imprisoned forced him to return home. Monte Lupe returned when he heard there was a parliament to report this to the king, but the Peruzzi secured that he was arrested and imprisoned in the Tower where he remains though he has done nothing wrong, and this being in contempt of the king in a great sum of money.
