Plumsted requests remedy and aid for Eton will not make restitution to him for a cheese that he despoiled him of at the command of Burdeyn. Eton has remained ever since with the sheriffs so that no restitution can be had.1)
Nature of endorsement
Exchequer.2) He is to be before the sheriff on the Wednesday next before the feast of the Purification in the sheriff's court of London.3) James de Plomsted, J. Eton.4) He did not prosecute.

Note
The petition is dated to c. 1315 on the basis of the date given within the petition for the taking of the cheese, namely the Wednesday next before All Saints, 9 [Edw. II]. The petition's date does, however, present some problems because the dating does not tally with the date that Burdeyn served as sheriff, he serving from Michaelmas 1313 to Michaelmas 1314 (List of Sheriffs, p.201).
