Nature of request
[Response to SC 8/311/15556]Sandale responds that after he and Marny had inspected the books of Baret and Clare they found that the King owes Hatch £136 for arrears of his wages. Subsequently Hatch was in Bayonne with Edmund, the King's brother, in the King's army, for which the King owes him £299 2s 6d for his wages and compensation for loss of horses. They do not know how much of the debt Hatch received after his arrival in England from Gascony.
