Nature of request
Lewis, Bishop of Durham requests remedy because when Grey was constable of Norham castle he received a loan of £113 from the King without the bishop's permission. Grey claims he received the money from Waltham to provision the castle and pay the wages of men at arms and hobelers defending the castle.
Nature of endorsement
The treasurer and barons of the Exchequer and the treasurer of the rolls and remembrances of the Exchequer should be ordered that if they find that Grey has returned in the Exchequer that he has received the money without the bishop's order as the petition supposes, then the bishop should be discharged and Grey charged.
