Petitioners
William le Draper of Staundon.
Name(s)
le Draper, William
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Draper requests remedy against Garderobe who owes him £20 in damages for a trespass with force and arms made against him, as was found by inquisition. Garderobe didn't have lands or chattels with which to levy the damages and so was arrested, but has acquired a charter of pardon.
Nature of endorsement
The justices of the King's Bench should be ordered to examine the record and process mentioned in the petition. If it is found that Garderobe was attainted of trespass and damages were awarded to Draper and that Garderobe was released by virtue of his charter without paying Draper damages, they should then arrest Garderobe and detain him in prison until he has made grace for the said damages.
