- The petition is dated to? 1443 since this is the date of the Chancery warrants with which it was possibly enclosed (C 81/1433 nos.26, 27 or 31). Also in this year the petitioners received a grant of the town of New Windsor, upon surrender of letters patent dated 10 September 1281 and making a grant to the provost and college of Eton (CPR 1441-6, p. 363).
