Nature of request

The petitioners request remedy regarding the sale of the manors of Painswick and Castle Goodrich to the Despensers by Elizabeth, stating that they have sued to bring before the council transcripts of the feet of two fines concerning these sales, which were forced from Elizabeth when she was imprisoned at Purfrith. She was also forced to make recognisance of these fines before Bousser, as is found by an inquisition held before Stonor and his fellows, and now returned into Chancery. They ask that the inquest be viewed, and right be done.
