- The petitioner makes two requests. 1) He requests that all debts owed by him at the Exchequer, from his own time and that of his ancestors, be cancelled, or that he be allowed to repay them at 40 marks per year, in consideration of his great costs and troubles in the king's wars. 2) He requests the king's licence to travel on pilgrimage to Santiago, and letters of protection until the following Easter.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- The petitioner was granted respite of his debts on 8 July 1335 until Martinmas next, and again on 24 October 1335 until the quindene of Easter next (CCR 1333-7, pp.504-5, 531). On 14 July he also received letters of protection until All Saints day next (1 November 1335) (CPR 1334-8, p.155). These do not match the precise terms of these requests, but were almost certainly part of the same process.
