Description
Petitioners
Prior and Convent of St Frideswide's, Oxford.
Addressees
King and Council.
Nature of request
The Prior and Convent of St Frideswide's, Oxford, request the restoration of certain tithes in the churches of Oakley and Brill in the forest of Bernwood, of which they are parsons. They state that Mautravers, lately Warden of the Forest, sold Southboys, of which they had the right to the tithes, and although they have sued Mautravers, he has done nothing.
Nature of endorsement
Order the Warden of the Forest to pay the tithes [...] as were paid in the times of his progenitors.
Places mentioned
Oxford, [Oxfordshire]
Acle (Oakley), [Buckinghamshire]
Brehull (Brill), [Buckinghamshire]

Southboys [unidentified], [Buckinghamshire].
People mentioned
John Mautravers (Maltravers), Warden of the Forest.
Note
Dated to 1330 in Rot. Parl., vol. II, p.50. 'Southboys' is presumably a 'southern wood', but Bernwood Forest has now all but disappeared, and the location cannot be identified.
