- Bernard de Paras states that he has served the king well and loyally in the present war in Gascony with a party of men at the king's wages, in the defence of the town of Saint-Sever, and has received no reward. He asks that the Constable of Bordeaux might be ordered to pay his wages, as he finds to be due to him by account and from bills that he has, from the issues of the Duchy, or from the first treasure that comes to Gascony from England, so that Bernard will be able to continue to serve the king in future.
