Description
Petitioners
Bos de la Roke (Roque, Larroque), knight of Gascony.
Name(s)
Roke (Roque, Larroque), Bos
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Bos de la Roke states that during the time of the king's father he was given an assignment to receive from the Constable of Bordeaux a certain sum of money in allowance for his lands which were in the hand of the King of France in time of war, as can be seen from the letters patent he has for this; but nothing has been done, and the present Constable refuses to pay him without a new warrant from the present king. He asks that, in consideration of his service and troubles, he might be served as others in his case have been.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege.
Places mentioned
Gascony, [France].
People mentioned
[Edward I], King of England
[Philip IV], King of France.
Note
Datable to the reign of Edward II with reference to Roles Gascons, vol. III no.4985 (293), which is dated 6 April 33 Edward I (1305), and which would seem to be the original instruction about which nothing was done, and to the mention of the king's father. The petition probably dates from earlier, rather than later, in the reign.
