Description
Petitioners
William (Guilhem) Auraneo (Amaneu) de Madahlano (Madaillan), Lord of Rauzan; Peter (Pey) Gensak (Gensac).
Name(s)
de Madahlano (Madaillan), Lord of Rauzan; Gensak (Gensac), William (Guilhem) Auraneo (Amaneu); Peter (Pey)
Addressees
King and council.
Places mentioned
Rauzan, [Guyenne, France].
Nature of request
William Auraneo de Madahlano, Lord of Rauzan, asks that the present Constable of Bordeaux, or the person who will be Constable, might be ordered to pay him the money due to him for his wages and those of his companions, notwithstanding any previous command made to the Constable or his lieutenant. Peter Gensak makes the same request.
Nature of endorsement
The Seneschal and the Constable of Bordeaux are to be ordered to make inquiries and to inform the king; and he will further do what seems to him is to be done.
Note
The instructions to pay the petitioners their wages, see m.9 of C 61/44 are dated 5 March 6 Edward III (1332), and are probably the ultimate response to this petition; in any case, the had would suggest that this is a likely date.
