Note (Additional information about the record)
- From the hand, language, and content, this petition would seem to date from the aftermath of the war of St Sardos, and probably from the early years of the reign of Edward III. It does not appear to be quite contemporary with other petitions from this period making similar requests (SC 8/281/14006, SC 8/281/14022, SC 8/281/14039, SC 8/282/14055, SC 8/282/14067 and SC 8/282/14073, for example) which receive negative answers; although two with similar endorsements are SC 8/285/14203 and SC 8/285/14231.
