Full description and record details

Reference
SC 8/285/14246
Date
[1327-1332]
Description
Petitioners
Doat Aymaneu (Amaneu); Falket (Foulques) de Monpuy.
Name(s)
Aymaneu (Amaneu); de Monpuy, Doat; Falket (Foulques)
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Separate but identical petitions from Doat Aymaneu and Falket de Monpuy, who were in the king's service in the war in Gascony, and are owed a large part of their wages. They requests letters to the Constable of Bordeaux to pay them what they can show to be due to them by bills sealed by the Constables of Bordeaux, or by warrants sealed by Oliver de Ingham, then Seneschal of Gascony.
Nature of endorsement
The Constable of Bordeaux is to be ordered to account with them, and to pay them what he can find from the account to be due to them as soon as he properly can.
Places mentioned
Gascony, [France].
People mentioned
Oliver de Ingham, Seneschal of Gascony.
Note
Dated on the guard to c. 1341, with reference to orders to pay the petitioners on m.7 of C 61/53 (Carte, vol. I p. 108) dated 18 and 15 August 15 Edward III (1341). However, these do not quite match the petition or its response, and the hand seems earlier; and in any case the reference to Oliver de Ingham, Seneschal of Gascony between March 1326 and February 1327, and between June 1332 and July 1343, as the former Seneschal, would seem to date this petition to 1327-1332, between his two terms of office. Check m.19 of C 61/52, dated 21 June 1340.
