Nature of request
The merchants of Bayonne state that Michael Miniot, king's butler, took 202 tuns of good wine from them last Lent, at a value of £600 sterling or more, and that since then they have remained in England seeking payment, without success. They request swift payment, as they have run out of money and cannot remain in England any longer; and if they are not paid, the merchants of their country will cease to bring their merchandise to England.
