- The sergeants general of the Duchy of Guyenne state that they receive no wages from the king but only their rations (purchas), and that most of the obligations made in Gascony are submitted to the distraint of the seneschal or his lieutenant, and they have no judge except the seneschal or his lieutenant. They ask that they might have the king's letters to carry out distraints, by letter or by command of the seneschal or his lieutenant.
