Nature of request
Arnold Garcies du Gout, Lord of Puyguilhem, states that he has lost £1000 tournois of rent and more annually through his service to the king, and has also suffered £3000 sterling of damage from the siege of Puyguilhem by the French. He requests the prevote of Labouheyre, Born and Mimizan, which is one prevote, in compensation for his lost rent; or, if this does not please the king, the prevote of Labourd. And he requests compensation for his damages from the siege, as well as payment of his wages and of compensation for horses lost in the king's service.
Nature of endorsement
The seneschal and constable are to be ordered to inform themselves of his losses, both in lands and in goods, and to inform the king on this; and the king when he has taken advice, is further to do what he ought.
Note
The instructions to let the petitioner have the prevote of Labouheyre, Born and Mimizan, and to pay the petitioner his wages, on m.12 of C 61/44 are dated 10 February 6 Edward III (1332) and would seem to be the ultimate response to this petition.
