Nature of request
Bertram Caylou makes two requests:1) He states that he is banished from the Duchy of Guyenne by the ordinance made between the King and the King of France, and asks the King to ordain with the King of France in such a manner that the banishment might be repealed.2) He states that his wages have been assigned to him by the Seneschal of Gascony and the king's council, and asks that the due and customary wages of England might be paid to him, as was ordained, and that the Constable of Bordeaux might be ordered to pay him in full without delay, as he is currently delaying and refusing to pay him according to the ordinance, and he is living in a foreign country at great expense; and he asks that the Constable might be ordered to account for his wages as the customary wages of England from the day when he was banished until the day the banishment is repealed in his country.
Nature of endorsement
With regard to repealing the banishment, the king will send certain messengers to the parlement of Paris at the octaves of Michaelmas next, who will be charged with this business and others concerning the Duchy.With regard to the wages, the present Constable of Bordeaux etc. is to be ordered to account with him for his wages, and to pay him what is due to him.Done, with regard to the wages.

From the hand and language, this petition would seem to date from the early years of the reign of Edward III. It might be contemporary with SC 8/284/14169, SC 8/284/14171 and SC 8/284/14175, which can be dated to 1327-1332.
