Nature of request
Peter Foucher makes two requests:1) He states that his uncle, Pierre Foucher, alias Pierre Ros, was in the service of the king's father as his proctor and defender in the Duchy of Guyenne, and that he was killed in that service, defending the late king's rights; and that he has made great enemies by his suit concerning that death. He requests a letter of safeguard for himself and his people, so that they might be better protected.2) He states that he has long served the late king, and still serves the present king, to no profit, and asks that he might be made the king's general proctor and defender in the Duchy of Guyenne, and that he might either be granted for term of life the emoluments of the defaults in the court of Gascony or that he might have a fee of £40 of the money of the country for that office.
