Nature of request
Remfre Durford, Lord of Bajamont, and Raymond Bernard Durford, his brother, state that their father served the king's father and grandfather in peace and war, and that they have served the king and his father faithfully, and have made many enemies among the King of France and his great people as a result, and have attacked the French from their castle so successfully that they have to guard themselves and their castle carefully, at great expense. They ask that in satisfaction of this sum, and to maintain their estate and castle, they might have high lordship (haute seignurie) in the castle and its appurtenances, the bounds of which they list, and also that the castle and its appurtenances might be granted the royal resort of the city of Agen, because of their enemies, and put under the resort of the castle of Puymirol.

The present Seneschal and Constable of Bordeaux etc. are to be ordered to inform themselves concerning the things contained in the bill and to inform the king, so that he can further do what is advised by his council.
