Name(s)
de Caumont, Lord of Caumont, William (Guilhem)
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
William, Lord of Caumont in Agenais, states that the king had granted, of his grace, that he might have back half the town of Gontaud in Agenais, sold to the king's father by his father, for the price the king's father paid for it, and that he had also granted him holdings in Blongoy for a similar amount of rent elsewhere in Agenais; and he had given orders to the Lord of Craon, Seneschal of Gascony, accordingly, but the seneschal had been removed from office before he could carry them out, and kept the letters from the king with him. He asks that these things might be done, and be renewed and confirmed by the king's letters.
Nature of endorsement
The Seneschal of Gascony is to be ordered to inform himself about the contents of the petition, and to write back to the king with his information.
