Description
Petitioners
William (Guilhem), Lord of Faugas.
Name(s)
Lord of Faugas, William (Guilhem)
Addressees

Nature of request
William, Lord of Faugas states that he and his companions have been accused of the death of the Lord of Amou and Tilh, and of some of his companions, and that they were arrested in his own house for that reason by the bailli of Bonnegarde; and he and all his goods have been held for eight years, and still are, and the Seneschals of Gascony and of the Landes have refused to do justice to them, according to the customs of Dax, in whose jurisdiction he is, although he has often asked them to. He has also had great expenses in prison. He requests letters patent to the Seneschal of Gascony or of the Landes, or their lieutenants, to do justice and reason to him and his companions according to the customs of Dax. And if this can be established by judgment, he asks that his lands and goods might be returned.
Nature of endorsement
The present Seneschal of Gascony etc. is to be ordered to call before him those who are to be called, and further to do full justice concerning the things contained in the bill, according to the laws and customs of the region of Dax, where the deed was done.
