Nature of request
Pictavinus de Causaco, Galhard his brother, Reginald de Monteteton, William Aymerici and his brothers, and Garsias de Castello state that they are and have been the king's faithful vassals for the lands they have in Monteton, but that their enemy, John de Raglonio, is attempting to make them recognise him as lord and submit to his jurisdiction, something which they have refused to do, defending the king's right in the court of the King of France in Paris, where a suit is still pending on this matter. They ask that they might be maintained, defended and warranted, and the king's rights preserved; and that the king might write to his seneschals of Gascony and the Agenais and his other officials in the Duchy, and to his proctors in Paris, to do what they ought in this matter.
