Nature of request
The abbot of Saint-Ferme states that he has been unable to recover the expenses incurred by his predecessor in travelling to England, or his own in prosecuting the business of the bastide of [Sauveterre-de-Guyenne], from the Constable of Bordeaux, as he alleges that he has many obligations and cannot afford to pay the abbot at present. He asks that he might be paid, as his goods are not sufficient to sustain such expenses.
