Description

Name(s)

Nature of request
Fortaner Desgarebake petitions on behalf of his sergeant, Raymond Gassie de Iaces, who has served the king in his wars in Gascony in the castle of Saintes, and has lost £200 tournois and more in this service; and now accusations of this service have been made against him to the King of France and his people, so that he does not dare to earn his living in the power of the King of France as he used to, and has nothing on which to live. Fortaner asks that he might have wages of 6d. sterling a day for term of life, or at the king's pleasure, to be received from Bordeaux castle if the Constable of Bordeaux finds that these things are true.
