Description
Petitioners
Consuls of Lunac, Aiguillon.

Nature of request
The consuls of Lunac make two petitions:1) They state that the town of Aiguillon is divided into two castles, Fossat and Lunac, the latter of which belongs partly to the king, and that the castle of Fossat enjoys a franchise in the customs of Bordeaux which Lunac does not. They ask that they too might enjoy this franchise on their wines, as Edward I had promised to grant them these liberties.2) They ask that the Seneschal of Gascony might be ordered to observe and uphold the customs, liberties and franchises granted to the bastide of Nicole, and the pareage made for the construction of the bastide with the lords of the castle of Lunac; and that he might make others observe these also.
Nature of endorsement
With regard to the first petition: the seneschal is to inform himself and to write back to the king with his information. With regard to the second: the seneschal is to be ordered that, when he has examined the pareage, he is to observe it. And with regard to the confirmation of liberties etc. the seneschal is to inform himself and to write back to the king with his information.
