Description
Petitioners

Name(s)
de Monte Pesato (Montpezat), Arnold (Arnaut)
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
Arnold de Monte Pesato states that he had an agreement with Galhard de Lunacio and his other joint lords of the castle of Aiguillon in the bourg of Lunac that if any of them sold his rights in the jurisdiction of the castle, its tolls or rents, then the other joint lords would have the right to have them before any other person, and to recover them from the buyer for the price for which they were sold. Galhard has now sold a toll on wines passing the castle along the Garonne and Lot towards Bordeaux to Arnold de Caven, and Arnold de Monte Pesato and his fellow lords are prepared to pay Arnold de Caven for this what he paid for it. He asks that the Seneschal of the Agenais might be ordered to deliver this toll to them according to the tenor of the agreement, when they have paid Arnold what he paid for it.
Nature of endorsement
What is requested cannot lawfully be done: but the seneschal will be ordered to do justice between the parties according to the agreements.
