Nature of request
The prior of Marmande, of the Benedictine order and the diocese of Agen, petitioning on behalf of his monastery and priory, states that the monastery is exempted from the payment of tolls (pedagia) on wine, corn and all other goods carried by land or water, provided that they are not carried for purposes of trade, they are daily harassed on this matter by the king's officers. The matter was entrusted to certain officers of the Duchy to be determined, but they have not acted, although often asked to do so by the prior and his people. He asks that he might be provided with a suitable remedy.
Nature of endorsement
The Seneschal of Gascony is to be ordered that, when he has seen the prior's privileges, he is to do justice.
