Description
Petitioners
Amaneu de la Mote.
Name(s)
Mote, Amaneu
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
Amaneu de la Mote states that he was with the king in the last war in Gascony, and that because of this the King of France took his castle of Antyrac into his hand. Then because of the peace made when the Bishop of Norwich was in Gascony, Amaneu returned unwillingly to the obedience of the King of France, but despite this the king still holds the castle which had been seized because Amaneu supported the English. He asks the king to write to the King of France asking for the castle to be returned to him immediately, as it was ordained in the peace which was made between the king and the late King of France that everything was to be returned to its previous state.
Nature of endorsement
The messengers who will go to the parlement at Paris will be charged with this business among others: because of which it will be good for him to sue to them.
