Reference
SC 8/282/14064
Date
[? c. 1329]
Description
Petitioners
Sanzins (Sanchot) de Rudi of Aspe.
Name(s)
de Rudi, Sanzins (Sanchot)
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
Sanzins de Rudi of Aspe asks the king to confirm the gift and confirmation to him of £30 sterling, made by the late king as a reward for his service.
Nature of endorsement
He is to show what he has from the king's father, and the king will do what is reasonable for him.
Places mentioned
Aspe, [Gascony, France].
People mentioned
[Edward II], King of England.
Note
The grant of £30 sterling to the petitioner from the issues of the king's lands of Cap de Pin (m.9 of C 61/26) is dated 15 April 6 Edward II (1313). This petition, however, requests confirmation of this gift by the new king, and would therefore seem to date to the early years of the reign of Edward III, and possibly to 1329, like many of the other petitions in this file.
