Nature of request
Anessantz de Coumond, lord of Tombeboeuf, who has lost his towns and castles in the king's service in the war in Gascony, and who has been banished from the Duchy because of the war, asks the king to send his letters patent to the Constable of Bordeaux to pay him the wages due to him without delay, paying one sterling for five tournois.

The present Constable of Bordeaux etc. is to be ordered to account with him for his wages, and to pay him what is due to him..

The instructions to pay the petitioner on m.4 of C 61/41 are dated 18 August 1329, and are probably in response to this petition. See also the discussion of the petition in M. Vale, The Angevin Legacy and the Hundred Years War (Oxford, 1990), p. 248.
