Nature of request
John de Brolhon states that in time of war he lent a certain sum of money to lord Oliver, then, Seneschal of Gascony, for which he has letters sealed with the seal of Gascony, and asks that the present Constable of Bordeaux, or he who will be Constable for the time being, might be ordered to pay him without delay.
Nature of endorsement
The present seneschal etc. is to be ordered to examine the letters which he has for the debt and to inform the king, conclusively and openly, under the seal of Gascony, of the reason for the debt, insofar as he can.

This petition can be dated by m.23 of C 61/43, dated 25 January 5 Edward III (1331). Oliver de Ingham was Seneschal of Gascony between March 1326 and February 1327, and between June 1332 and July 1343.
