- John de Lyboun states that he and Masci, his brother, served the king in the war in Gascony, where Masci was killed, and that the King of France has held the brothers' goods for the past five years, and has destroyed their houses. John requests 40 marks annually from the custom of Bordeaux or the prevote of Dax in compensation, or the prevote of Dax for term of life or at pleasure, for 20 marks annually, or the scrivenership of the Ombriere at Bordeaux, which will not cost the king anything.

- With regard to the loss and damage, the king has understood that some compensation has been made in such a case, and will shortly send a suitable seneschal to those parts, who will inform himself of the losses and damages given and received, and the damages inflicted, and the condition of the people, and will act in such a manner that everyone will reasonably consider himself satisfied.With regard to the prevotes, bailiwicks and scrivenerships, the king will shortly send a suitable seneschal to the Duchy who will have power to ordain for the bailiwicks and offices of the same Duchy.

Note (Additional information about the record)
- This petition would seem to date from the beginning of the reign of Edward III, and from the mention of the sending of a new seneschal, to either around February 1327 (before the appointment of John de Haustede) or to around June 1332 (before the appointment of Oliver de Ingham). The dating of SC 8/282/14093, which has an identical endorsement, suggests that the latter date is more likely.
