Nature of request
Fortener, Lord of Garrevache, makes two requests:1) He asks that the Constable of Bordeaux might be ordered to account with him for the wages due to him, and to pay him without delay, as he has suffered great damages in the late Gascon war.2) He asks that as John de Haustede, Seneschal of Gascony, has delivered the seneschalcy of the Landes into the king's keeping, that he might confirm it to him for such time as it pleases the king, in compensation for his service and his damages.
Nature of endorsement
The present Constable of Bordeaux, or he who will be Constable for the time being, is to be ordered to account with him for his wages, and to pay him what is due to him.With regard to the damages and losses etc. it is to be done as to the others who are in the same case.Done.
