Copy of letters patent from the King to John de Favaring, Seneschal of the Duchy and Richard de Favaring, Constable of Bordeaux, instructing them not to remove William de Soa from the bailiwick of the Ile d'Oleron, but to allow him to hold it for the due price at the king's pleasure, and while he conducts himself well and faithfully in that office.

The enrolment of this document on the Gascon roll (Roles Gascons, vol. III no. 4823) is dated 1 April 33 Edward I (1305). Roles Gascons, vol. III no.4645 is dated 22 November 33 Edward I (1304). John de Havering was Seneschal of Gascony between October 1304 and August 1308, and Richard de Havering was Constable of Bordeaux between March 1305 and January 1307.
