The petitioners state that they held a manor at Lege in the Duchy of Gascony, and that Stephen Segu . . . and others burnt down this manor and a great quantity of corn there without reason, causing them £400 tournois of damage. They ask that the Seneschal of Gascony might be ordered to inform himself on this matter, and to punish those who are found to be guilty to the above sum, or to the sum of the damages that Gaucem and the others are found to have sustained.

He is to have what he requests.

Note
From the hand and language, this petition, like most of the others in this file, probably comes from the early years of Edward III, although it could be slightly earlier. It is hard to be certain if this incident is the same as the one described in SC 8/284/14170, although it seems quite likely.
