Description

Resolution of a council of war held on board Ranelagh at Port Mahon: the fleet is required to transport 2,000 cavalry and 2,000 infantry from Italy to Catalonia; they are able to transport the infantry, but the transports for the cavalry must be provided in Italy. The admiral should proceed to Barcelona to confer with the king of Spain [Charles III]. Arrangements for provisions, Newfoundland convoy etc. No. 99
