These warrants relate mainly to the appointment by debtors of attorneys to confess judgement in actions of debt. They normally give the full names and addresses of the debtors, suitors and solicitors involved as well as the sums of money in question. The series also includes some certificates of filing or registration of such warrants in the Bills of Sale Department of the Central Office of the Supreme Court of Judicature and a few cognovits executed in acknowledgement of debt.
