Description

These papers were transferred from the chambers of Master Samuel Augustus Mason Satow, who served as a master in the Chancery Division of the High Court from 1899 until his death in 1925. The series does include material generated by his predecessor and inherited by him. The predecessors of Master Samuel Augustus Mason Satow (1899-1925) in his role as a Master/Chief Clerk were Master Henry Francis Church (1866-1898) and, for causes with initial letters G-K, Master Alfred Hall (1852-1873); and for causes with initial letters L-N, Master Robert William Peake (1852-1886).

The documents in this series arise mainly from actions concerning the administration of estates and the winding-up of companies. Among the papers will be found accounts, particulars of claims, and some pedigrees and plans.
