This series contains books from the chambers of Chancery Master Samuel Augustus Mason Satow. They resulted largely from actions concerning the estates of deceased persons and proceedings under the Companies Acts. It also includes registers of accounts brought into chambers, advertisements and certificates filed. There is a series of appearance books in winding-up proceedings.
Samuel Augustus Mason Satow served as a master in the Chancery Division of the High Court from 1899 until his death in 1925. Many of the records concerned originated with Master Samuel Augustus Mason Satow's predecessors. The predecessors of Master Samuel Augustus Mason Satow (1899-1925) in his role as a Master/Chief Clerk were Master Henry Francis Church (1866-1898) and, for causes with initial letters G-K, Master Alfred Hall (1852-1873); and for causes with initial letters L-N, Master Robert William Peake (1852-1886).
