Folios 207-208. Letter from John Geddes of Aberdeen referring to an earlier letter of 9 June written at the suggestion of Mr Hippisley MP [for Sudbury] whilst in Rome, clarifying that its purpose was to demonstrate that the court of Rome recommended British Roman Catholics to adopt peaceful behaviour and dutiful submission towards the British government. Geddes goes on to assert the loyalty of the generality of British Roman Catholics to the Crown and the government whilst saying that 'we cannot be answerable for some wrongheaded individuals'.
