Folios 190-192. Letter from Mr T Atkinson, Clerk to the Magistrates, Peterborough, writing on behalf of Revd Dr Strong, Revd H J Freeman, H Y Smithies and Joseph Parsons [Magistrates] concerning the burglary of John Tyers, Peakirk, near Peterborough, Northamptonshire. Mr Tyers [between 60 and 70 years old] received nearly a dozen wounds, and his sister [nearly 80 years old] was held in bed by 2 men and in a state of derangement drowned herself the next day. He asks if a free pardon can be granted to any accomplice who might give information leading to the actual perpetrators. Also asks if government would offer a reward upon the conviction of one or more of the offenders. Includes a copy of the handbill offering a reward of £10.
