Folios 168-172. Letter from Lord Ebrington, London, enclosing a letter and statement from Mr Calmady P Hamlyn regarding a fire on some cover (woodland) on his estate in 1819. A reward to be paid on the discovery of the offender or offenders has been offered but with no effect. As more than one person is believed to be involved Mr Hamlyn is now asking if a pardon may be obtained for one of the people concerned upon his giving information about his accomplices or instigators.
