Folios 132-134. Covering letter from Mr Iadis[?], India Board[?], relating to a fire on the property of John William Clough, Newbald Lodge Farm, North Newbald, Yorkshire East Riding,, and offering a further reward of 20 guineas by a society at Newbold. Enclosed is a memorial by Mr Clough stating that on the 15 or 16 January 1822 he had five stacks of wheat and three stacks of oats destroyed by fire. He has produced handbills offering 50 guineas reward for information that might lead to a conviction but has had no result. He is asking if the government might add to that amount and if a pardon could be offered to any accomplice who will give information leading to the instigator of the crime.
