Pre-fire Plans. Plan proposed for the building of the new Houses of Parliament. Scale: 1 inch to 20 feet. This is one of the schemes prepared before the fire of 1834. The proposed new buildings are placed along the river front with the House of Lords and House of Commons planned east and west with their east ends facing the river. St Stephen's Chapel, the Painted Chamber and Court of Requests are retained and adapted. ORDER AS WORK 29/29
