Debtor: John Bataille of Stanford Rivers in [Ongar Hundred] Essex, esquire, the son and heir of John Bataille, knight, deceased.

Creditor: John Heron, esquire [Treasurer of the King's Chamber, of London].

Endorsement: Wistan Brown, Sheriff, replies that he delivered to John Heron all the property listed in the writ. John Bataille was not found in the bailiwick.

Inquisition and return: Date to be returned: 13.10.1518 The Sheriff had replied to an earlier writ that on the day of the recognisance John Bataille was seized of a certain wood or pasture called Ongar Park in Essex, worth £20, and of a manor or tenement in Manuden [Clavering Hundred, Essex] called the manor of Bromes, and of another manor or tenement in Manuden called Batell Hall worth £16 13s 4d a year. John Bataille was not found in the bailiwick.
